How long have you been training at 3 Aces?
Since March 2016!
What do you like most about 3 Aces?
I love that we're surrounded by awesome and knowledgeable coaches who make us feel welcomed and encouraged no matter what our fitness level is. It's a place I always look forward to go to at the end of the day.
What has been your biggest achievement since joining?
Lifting 80kg off the floor! Never thought in a million years that that's something I'm capable of!
What goals are you working towards?
To get better at Thrusters and Cleans. I have a new found appreciation for thrusters in the past 2 years (when I joined 3 Aces I couldn't even do 15kg bar). And to lift my bodyweight on cleans will be a massive achievement!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Chrissy Teigen for her body positivity message and her humour.J.Lo. Because her perfect booty is something aspire to. @Willesdenstaff for their daily London Underground inspirational quotes on IG. What piece of advice would you give to someone starting on his or her fitness journey?
Stick to a routine.
I always plan out my week to include CrossFit sessions, and make it a consistent part of my weekly routine. Once I have my schedule locked down, I stick to it. Of course, plans can change, long working days can make you feel deflated, but I normally don't allow 'I feel a bit lazy today' to be my excuse not to go to a session. I always find that especially after a stressful day at work, the last thing you need is the couch. You'll feel much better after a good WOD.
Tell us something that we might not know about you?
I grew up absolutely hating physical exercise. I was always the smallest kid in PE who got picked last and often caught a ball with her face. I'm now much healthier and in a better headspace in my 30s than when I was in my teens, all thanks to 3 Aces. But my hands-eye coordination is still pretty bad, and I still can't catch a ball to save my life.
